What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They are commonly used to remember preferences, keep a session intact across page loads, and, on many sites, to recognize a visitor and follow them from page to page or across the web.
Cookies are not programs and cannot be used to access your device or other data on it. They are simple records that your browser stores and sends back to us (or to a third party) when you visit.
Cookies We Use
None. Psylopedia does not set cookies, and there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
One thing is stored in your browser, and it is not a cookie. It lives in localStorage, which means it stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else:

Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics. We set no analytics cookies, and we load no third-party tracking script.
We do keep a rough count of what gets read, using our own first-party analytics. It runs without cookies and without any identifier that would let us recognize you, connect one visit to another, or follow you to another site. What it produces is a total: this page was read this many times. There is no profile behind it, because there is nothing to build one from.
Since nothing is stored on your device and nothing points back to you, there is no consent to give and nothing to switch off.
Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies stored by a site
- Block all cookies, or cookies from specific sites
- Delete cookies you have already received
Blocking cookies may affect your experience on other sites. On Psylopedia it changes nothing, since we do not set any. Clearing your site data will also clear the disclaimer record, so the disclaimer will appear again on your next visit.

Consent
Psylopedia used to show a cookie banner asking permission to run Google Analytics. Both are gone. We removed the tracking rather than keep asking you to approve it, which seemed the more honest way round.
There is nothing left to consent to, so we no longer ask.
