    Who We Are

Psylopedia is an independent educational reference library available at psylopedia.com. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can reach us at info@psylopedia.com.

    What We Collect and Why

    Analytics data

We keep a rough count of what gets read, using our own first-party analytics rather than Google Analytics or any other third-party tracker. It runs without cookies and without any identifier that would let us recognize you, connect one visit to another, or follow you elsewhere on the web. We can see that a page was read and how often. We cannot see who read it.

What this leaves us with is a set of totals. There is nothing in it that points back to you, so there is nothing here to consent to, withdraw, or opt out of.

    Email address (newsletter)

If you subscribe to the Psylopedia newsletter, we store your email address in order to send you occasional educational updates. We do not send marketing emails or share your address with third parties.

Legal basis: your explicit opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. After unsubscribing, your address will be removed from active lists within a reasonable period.

    Chat interactions

If you use the on-site AI chat feature, your messages are processed by Google Gemini to generate responses. We do not store your chat messages after the session ends. Each conversation is ephemeral and is not linked to any personal profile.

    Technical logs

Our hosting infrastructure collects standard server access logs, which may include your IP address, timestamp, and the page requested. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and stability purposes, then deleted.

    Cookies

We do not set cookies, and there is no cookie banner. One item is kept in your browser's localStorage to remember that you have accepted the site disclaimer, so it does not reappear on every page. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. For the full detail, see our Cookie Policy.

    Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

    • Right of access -- you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
    • Right to correction -- you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
    • Right to deletion -- you can ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
    • Right to portability -- you can ask for a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
    • Right to object -- you can object to certain types of processing
    • Right to withdraw consent -- where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time
    • Right to lodge a complaint -- you can complain to your national data protection authority if you believe we have mishandled your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@psylopedia.com. We will respond within 30 days.

    Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties to operate Psylopedia:

    Data Retention

    • Analytics: aggregate page-view totals only, with no personal identifiers held
    • Newsletter email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe
    • Server access logs: 30 days, then deleted
    • Chat messages: not retained after the session ends

    Children

Psylopedia is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

    Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if our data practices change. The date at the top reflects when the policy was last revised. Significant changes will be noted with a summary at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
