Who We Are
Psylopedia is an independent educational reference library available at psylopedia.com. We are operated from Bulgaria, within the European Union. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can reach us at hello@psylopedia.com.
What We Collect and Why
Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use Psylopedia. This includes page views, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location. The purpose is to improve the site -- to understand which content is useful, where people get stuck, and how the experience can be better.
Legal basis: your explicit consent. Analytics data is only collected if you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies and declining analytics on your next visit.
Email address (newsletter)
If you subscribe to the Psylopedia newsletter, we store your email address in order to send you occasional educational updates. We do not send marketing emails or share your address with third parties.
Legal basis: your explicit opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. After unsubscribing, your address will be removed from active lists within a reasonable period.
Chat interactions
If you use the on-site AI chat feature, your messages are processed by Google Gemini to generate responses. We do not store your chat messages after the session ends. Each conversation is ephemeral and is not linked to any personal profile.
Technical logs
Our hosting infrastructure collects standard server access logs, which may include your IP address, timestamp, and the page requested. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and stability purposes, then deleted.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to remember your preferences and, with your consent, to collect analytics. For full details on which cookies we use and why, see our Cookie Policy.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access -- you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
- Right to correction -- you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to deletion -- you can ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to portability -- you can ask for a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object -- you can object to certain types of processing
- Right to withdraw consent -- where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time
- Right to lodge a complaint -- you can complain to your national data protection authority if you believe we have mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@psylopedia.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties to operate Psylopedia:
- Google Analytics 4 (analytics) -- subject to Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
- Supabase (database and infrastructure) -- privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy
- Resend (email delivery) -- privacy policy at resend.com/privacy
Data Retention
- Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics 4 defaults (14 months)
- Newsletter email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe
- Server access logs: 30 days, then deleted
- Chat messages: not retained after the session ends
Children
Psylopedia is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
